IFC will launch “Henry’s Film Corner,” a movie review show hosted by actor, author and former Black Flag singer Henry Rollins, on Saturday, December 4.

Rollins will talk movies, showbiz and film culture with special guests and ordinary people (including his mailman), with clips of upcoming films, DVD releases and rediscovered classics providing fodder for their spirited discussions.

Regular features will include: “Typecast,” which will examine how various social and ethnic groups are portrayed in film; “What to Watch,” a compilation of films organized by mood; and “Henry’s Picks,” in which Rollins recommends what viewers should see.

According to Rollins, "'Henry's Film Corner' will not be some sanitized 'talk show' with polite commentary and everyone trying to be politcally correct. I have very strong opinions on many subjects and I look forward to many high-spirited, in-your-face debates on many different issues, including things that piss me off. At the same time, I will be offering our audience thorough reviews of upcoming films to help provide some guidance on what to see and what to avoid."

Debbie DeMontreux, IFC’s Vice President of Development and Production, described “Henry’s Film Corner” as “'Ebert & Roeper’ meet ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’” and called Rollins “one of the entertainment world’s most intriguing personalities, at times ferocious, facetious, intolerable, brutal, hysterical, angry and jaded.” She said, “This series will combine Henry’s love of film and his thoughtful reviews with his and his guests’ frank and brutally honest opinions on everything from the world of film to more complex and serious social and political issues.”

The 10-part series joins IFC’s 2005 original programming slate, which will include “Ultimate Film Fanatic Season 2,” “Dinner for Five” and “Wanderlust,” a new documentary from the directors of “American Splendor.”

"Henry's Film Corner" will premiere on Saturday, December 4, at midnight (EST)/9 p.m. (PST). Each new 30-minute episode will air on the first Saturday of the month.

"Full Metal Challenge"

(airs every Sunday, 10 pm ET, re-runs on following Wednesday, 8 pm ET)
DVD released in the UK on June 16, 2003

Rollins:  "Last April I was contacted by Cathy Rogers who co-hosted and co-produces "Junkyard Wars." She told me about a new show she was working on called "Full Metal Challenge."  In short: Twenty-seven three man teams from all over the world are given one month and three thousand dollars to build a full-on endurance vehicle that will have to withstand the rigors put to it by the FMC vehicle breaking courses. At the end of twelve episodes, there’s only three teams left and they battle it out.  Cathy asked me if I was interested in co-hosting it with her. I met with her and she showed me the sketches for the courses the cars will have to drive on. The whole thing was to shoot in England over a five week period and there was well over two hundred people building at the site. It looked totally insane. I was very interested. I screen tested with Cathy at the "Junkyard Wars" site and the two channels carrying the show, Channel 4 in England and TLC in America, gave it the green light. We did it. I got back here from five weeks in England two days ago. The show is really good and they let me say whatever I wanted to for the most part, I was winging it up there. The show hits TLC in October 2002 and the UK in early 2003. So, you stateside types, check it out this fall. When it gets closer to the first broadcast, we’ll let you know. It was a good time and I think the show holds up."

The region 2 DVD was released in the Uk on June 16, 2003.  Extras include:  Interactive games - presented using a multi-camera angle feature on your DVD player, enabling you to see first hand what the drivers are experiencing during a game. Games include sinking or swimming in Wetropolis, car-sized pinball in Bumper Cars, territorial conquest in King of the Hill and vehicle-wrestling in Sumo.  Interactive features - watch the DVD in interactive mode and click into team links whilst watching FMC. This allows you to watch mini documentaries on the teams and how they made their vehicles.  Tour of the set - Greg Bryant, Chief Engineer on FMC takes you around the set, looking at each of the games and how they were built.  Interviews with presenters: the unstoppable actor/comedian Henry Rollins and Junkyard Wars and Scrapheap Challenge presenter, Cathy Rogers.  Interviews with FMC director, Julia Knowles & chief rigger, Wes Moore

"Night Visions"
Sci Fi - beginning September 9, 2002 (Mon-Thu 7 pm ET / PT)

In addition to the shows that ran on FOX in 2001, three episodes that never made it to the airwaves will debut on Sci Fi.  Two of those, featuring Thora Birch ("Ghost World" ) and Malcolm McDowell ("A Clockwork Orange" ), will be shown back-to-back and billed as a Sci Fi original movie.  "Night Visions" also boasts appearances by Bridget Fonda, Bill Pullman, Samantha Mathis, Philip Baker Hall, Natasha Lyonne, Joshua Jackson and Sherilyn Fenn, along with many others.  Joe Dante ("Gremlins" ) and Tobe Hooper ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" ) are among the directors of each installment.

A daily half-hour late night show hosted by Zach Galifianakis direct from Hollywood.

"VH1 breaks the mold of the traditional late-night show, using music as a springboard to explore every facet of the Hollywood scene. The show will feature an unorthodox blend of musical performances, comedy segments, roundtables, and celebrities. In addition, guest field reporters will check in from Hollywood and around the country -- and every night, Zach himself will sum up the day's events before signing off."

"Inside Hate Rock"

VH1 - February 18, 2002 9-10 pm ET

About: VH1 News Special: Inside Hate Rock "VH1 News Special: Inside Hate Rock" looks at bands such as Skrewdriver, Rahowa (Racial Holy War), Carolina Sons, Angry Aryans, and Max Resist, who may have developed out of a common love of music, but whose message is what keeps them pumping out songs.  Interviews with Henry Rollins, Blink 182, ex-skinhead TJ Leydon, former white supremacist GeorgeBurdi, members of Max Resist, anti-racist experts Justin Massa and MarcWeitzman, members of the Angry Aryans, the Carolina Sons, and MaxResist, National Alliance head William Pierce, and Resistance Records executive Erich Gliebe, among others.   About VH1 News Special: Inside Hate Rock Hatecore: It's about violence, it's about the overthrow of the US government, it's about a white world. And it's become the leading tool to attract new followers to some of America's most virulent racist groups.   "VH1 News Special: Inside Hate Rock" uncovers the frightening allure and danger of the music known as hatecore through the eyes of the bands who play it, the fans who listen to it, and the demagogues who hawk it for political and financial profit.  The exclusive report explores the evolution of the movement, tracing the story of hatecore pioneer George Burdi, who left the movement, broadened his horizons and currently plays in a multicultural band in Toronto, as well as examining the rock against racism movement and the battle for the hearts and minds of young music fans.

"Full Metal Challenge"
Channel 4 (UK) - beginning April 6, 2003 5:30 pm
